I have seen groups around the country who refurbish original ones from the 1940-1950's and they are quite the rave. As long as you have a proper hitch for the LEAF you could easily pull it. Most weigh in at around 600 pounds which is equal to about 4 adults in the car. So while you will lose some range it would be fine for localized camping.
